Child Dedication

Our Next Baby/Child Dedication is TBD

Please contact the church office if you are interested.

 What is a Child Dedication?

Child dedication is a time for parents

to publicly declare their intention to

raise children in such a way that they

are given opportunities to learn about

God and trust Christ for their salvation.

It is a time for family, friends, and the

Swan Lake Church family to commit

themselves to support these parents.

Though the child dedication ceremony is very significant and meaningful, it is important that parents understand that saving grace for their child is not attached with this ceremony.

~~     ~~

Child Dedication ceremonies are offered a couple of times a year during the Sunday morning services.

Participants do not need to be members of Swan Lake; however it is important that they are regular attenders.

Parents who wish to dedicate children must be able to answer “yes” to the following questions:

  • Do you acknowledge that your child is a gift from God and created in His image?   Psalm 139

  • Do you understand that personal salvation for your child is not attached to this ceremony? Romans 10:9

  • Do you commit yourselves to live a Godly life before your child and give your child opportunities to hear the gospel so that he or she might be able to have a personal relationship with Christ? 1 Peter 1:13-16

  • Are you willing to surrender your child to God in order for God to fulfill His purposes in your child’s life?   Ps. 127:3-5
